15 JavaScript image carousels for slideshows and galleries

Today I thought we would go through some of my favorite image carousels and slider components. When faced with limited space, these are an easy way to add rich content to your site with little ease. The only decision you’ll need to make is which one works best for you.

Gallerific

Galleriffic was inspired by Mike Alsup’s jQuery Cycle plugin, but with performance in mind for delivering a high volume of photos.

 

 

The Slider from Barack Obama’s website

A MooTools based slider – this is a clone of the one from the Barack Obama website.

 

 

ZoomImage

zoomimage – presents your images in stylish way. The links are unobtrusively highjacked to open the images in an inpage popup with drop shadow and border. 

 

EasySlider

Easy Slider lets images or any content to slide horizontally or vertically on click. You can configure it using CSS alone.

 

 

CodaSlider

A slider with some speedy rolling effects. Well loved.

jQuery Slider II

It takes a list of your images and creates an easily styles photo gallery. This plugin will preload all of your larger images for faster viewing.

 

Beautiful Slider

This slider has some really useful index navigation that lets you flip between each slide using a number rather than the usual side sliders. Great  for news sites and portfolios.

 

LoopedSlider

loopedSlider is a plugin made for jQuery that solves a simple problem, the looping of slide content.

SpaceGallery

SpaceGallery is a brand new JQuery plugin that provides you an impressive Time Machine like effect to your images.
