Elastic layouts using the fluid design library

One of the big challenges with designing webpages is understanding how your page is going to look on a user’s screen. Users, much like crazy starved bobcats, can be unpredicatable and so it’s nice knowing that you can come up with a layout that’s flexible enough to match their browser size – whether they’ve resized it, maximised or hit the print button.

This week, Yusof Akyol has come up with a fluid design library that you can check out here. Inspired by emastic, his solution is simple yet allows you to resize your browser window and have the text and page design resize at the same time. As designers we often have to decide between Fluid and Fixed layouts – percentages and pixels. This decision involves a lot of factors including
