
Google may not have made a huge success out of it’s purchase of Orkut, but that hasn’t stopped the search giant from building a social network under our noses. Google, the world’s most popular search engine, has been slowly integrating a level of connectivity between their services including profiles, web apps, email and beyond that if properly packaged could very easily rival some of the more established SocNets like Facebook and MySpace. One of the current things missing from the Google “Social network” is the ability to easily add a friend, but with the leaps and bounds the company can make in a short space of time I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw something big happening in this arena in the not too distant future.
